Letter to Constituents

Dear St. George's West Constituents,

In light of the imminent General Election due in our island, I am certain that you like many across Bermuda are eager to participate.

Please know that, it is my intention to be a candidate in the next General Election for this, our constituency St. George's West #2 and pray that the good Lord continues to bless me and my family with good health and strength to carry out that responsibility.

I wish to be of continued service to all residents of St. Georges West and the people of Bermuda and respectfully seek your support. Both our country and our historic town need to become thriving commercial entities once again.

I will work to make that happen whilst ensuring that our precious heritage is preserved, our streets are safer, the environment is protected and our people are encouraged to respect each other and come together.

Our Island needs to become a better place for all of our people and visitors to enjoy.  I know that I can make a difference and together we can do it.

Yours Sincerely, H. Kim E. Swan JP, MP St. George's West

UBP Foundation

Opposition Leader Kim Swan has revealed that he has the support of the Central Executive of the United Bermuda Party to form the United Bermuda Party Foundation.

The Opposition Leader proudly disclosed that the foundation is being legally drawn up and will be presented at the Party AGM on Tuesday, December 15th.

Ironically, the Party is celebrating our 45th Anniversary and we owe it to the great men and women who worked selflessly to build a better Bermuda - through their service within the United Bermuda Party - to honour their legacy.

The foundation will be administered by a Board of Trustees who will oversee the foundation. The mandate of the foundation will be to tell the story of the United Bermuda Party, to pay homage to the legacy of the United Bermuda Party and celebrate the contributions of past Leaders, Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentarians, Chairman, Senators, members all who served Bermuda and the party with distinction.

"Telling the UBP story is necessary because it is a story of progressive change in our society over many years; change that made Bermuda a better place to live for all its citizens - through expanding education opportunities, growing and spreading prosperity, economic stability, the emergence of the black middle class and the nurturing of international business as a second pillar to the economy.

"Unfortunately it is a story that has been deliberately mischaracterized, besmirched and degraded by our political opponents. We let it happen to our detriment. Now, with the formation of the Foundation, we hope to "give Jack his due", to bring forward a better degree of truth and understanding about Bermuda's political past that is, quite frankly, in danger of being buried under a mountain of propaganda.
